Dakota Johnson’s Mom and Dad Joins Her in Saturday Night Live
Dakota Johnson's famous parents reunited for their daughter's hosting stint on Saturday Night Live.
Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith had been separated since 1995. The former Miami Vice star is now happily married to Kelley Phleger. Melani Griffith, on the other hand, had separated with longtime partner Antonio Banderas since last year.
According to People, Don Johnson joined ex-wife Melanie Griffith at LAX in Los Angeles this week to fly out to New York City and watch their daughter Dakota host the NBC variety show for the first time on Saturday.
In a spot promoting her SNL hosting stint, Johnson poked fun at how her mother has famously avoided seeing Fifty Shades of Grey. Griffith, who recently appeared on an episode of Hawaii Five-0, attended Sunday's Oscar telecast with her daughter, where she explained why she's avoided the sexed-up flick.
"She's a really good actress," Griffith told Lara Spencer on the red carpet. "I don't need to see that to see how good she is."
Dakota will soon be seen in Cymbeline where she goes back to her blonde roots. The movie premiered at the Venice Film Festival and will have its regular showing on March 13, 2015. Dakota is joined by Ethan Hawke, Ed Harris, Milla Jovovich, John Leguizamo and Penn Badgley.
On September 18, 2015, Dakota will join Johnny Depp, Kevin Bacon and Benedict Cumberbatch for the crime-drama Black Mass.
