Emma Watson on the Rumors that She's Dating Prince Harry: “WORLD ♥ Remember that Little Talk we had About not Believing Everything Written in the Media?!”
Emma Watson, 24, debunked rumors that she's been dating Prince Harry, 30. On her Twitter page, she wrote: "WORLD ♥ Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?!" She followed through with another tweet, saying: "also.....marrying a Prince not a prerequisite for being a Princess" with a link to a Youtube video from the 1995 film A Little Princess, with the tag-line "All Girls Are Princesses."
The rumors started from a Monday report from Woman's Day which was headlined "Prince Harry's secret dates with Emma Watson." Supported with an accompanying picture, the news site said that it "can exclusively reveal the pair are having secret dates with each other and are getting to know each other quite well." The Prince reportedly sent Emma a short email saying that he would "like to get to know her" and invited her out. According to Australian magazine, "although 12 other friends went along too to make Emma feel a little more comfortable, the pair hit it off!"
More recently, via another social media site, Emma however did say she wanted "to marry Steve Carell." On Sunday, at her Instagram page, she wrote: "Dear Steve Carell, You were pure genius in Little Miss Sunshine (one of my all-time favourite films), my brother became obsessed with you in Anchorman. I wanted to marry you or have you adopt me after Crazy, Stupid, Love, I hated that guy you played in The Way Way Back, and then you were mind-blowing in Foxcatcher." Of course, she also thanked Carell for publicly showing his support to her HeForShe advocacy, saying: "I think you're so awesome and now you are wearing #HeForShe cufflinks at the Oscars to support Gender Equality. Couldn't be more proud! Thank you."
In related news, Emma is set to play the role of Belle in Walt Disney's latest live-action adaptation for the big screen of Beauty and The Beast which will be directed by Bill Condon and which will likely also star Ryan Gosling as the Beast. Although still unconfirmed, the film is expected to show in theaters in 2016.
