Charlize Theron Escorts Sean Penn at the Premiere Screening of ‘Gunman’ in London
Charlize Theron joined long-time boyfriend Sean Penn at the premiere screening of his upcoming action-thriller film The Gunman at BFI Southbank in London Monday, February 16. According to Uinterview, while Penn is the star of the movie, Theron stole the show on the red carpet in a black halter Halston Heritage gown with a black belt with a gold buckle fastened at her waist and finishing off her look with Stuart Weitzman sandals. At her side, said the fashion site, Penn looked sharp in a navy blue suit and tie.
The Sean Penn starrer The Gunman has been directed by Pierre Morel from on a script written by Don Macpherson and Pete Travis based on the novel "The Prone Gunman" by Jean-Patrick Manchette. It also stars Idris Elba, Peter Franzen, Mark Schardan, Javier Bardem, and Ray Winstone. As described in the plot summary, an international operative named Martin Terrier (played by Penn) wants out of the game, so he can settle down with his longtime love. The organization he works for has other plans in mind, and he is forced to go on the run across Europe. Distributed by Open Road Films, The Gunman will be hitting the theaters beginning March 20.
Penn, 54, and Theron, 39, have been good friends for 18 years. But since early 2014, their friendship turned romantic and the two began dating. Theron revealed on The Today Show [via Uinterview], "If you have that kind of enduring friendship like we did, you value it and you don't want to just make an impulsive decision that can damage that. You always kind of have to evaluate or re-evaluate your actions moving forward."
Penn in an interview for Esquire UK [via Too Fab] admitted that he's surprised to find himself in love again. He said: "Yeah, I'm surprised to be in love. Lot of reasons. I'm self-proclaimed bad at mathematics but I can do two plus two: 53 years old plus finally beginning to figure out why you haven't been happy in a single relationship? It could seem too late. But to run into somebody now who you care about is a much more passionate, deeper, truer and - God! - a much happier feeling. It's a lot more romantic and a lot more fulfilling to be in a relationship and to think you're a good person within it."
