Jennifer Lawrence Deleted Scenes From 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' Plus Josh Hutcherson Extra Footage Surface Online, Watch Here (VIDEO)
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 have released a few bonus, deleted scenes this week as a part of a social media game. These scenes and more will be available on Digital HD today, February 17 and Blu-ray Combo Pack March 6th.
The scene with Josh Hutcherson (Peeta), leaked on Tumblr, and features President Snow (Donald Sutherland) explaining to Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) why he needs to be the Capitol's "voice of reason." It is a strong scene, but understandable why director Francis Lawrence chose to cut it from the film to put the audience in the same place as Katniss, unsure as to what was happening to Peeta beyond what the Capitol was letting her see.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 opened to theaters everywhere on November 21 starring Jennifer Lawrence, Julianne Moore, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
The film picks up immediately where the last film, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire left off. Katniss, is devastated to learn that her former home, District 12 of Panem, has been obliterated into ashes and her close friend and seemingly love interest, Peeta, has been taken captive by President Snow and the wicked forces of the nation's capitol. Katniss reluctantly becomes the beacon of hope and newfound leader of the rebel forces forming to wage war against the capitol - naming her as "The Mockingjay".
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny Strong and Peter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the third in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has over 65 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.
