Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose Divorce: Judgment Still Pending, But Ex-Couple Now Moving On
Wiz Khalifa (Cameron Jibriz Thomaz), 27, and Amber Rose (Amber Levonchuck), 31, married on July 8, 2013. They have a son they named Sebastian Taylor Thomaz who was born on February 21, 2013. On September 22, 2014, Amber filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" and seeking full custody of their child. Soon after, Wiz filed a response, also citing "irreconcilable difference" but countering Amber's request for full physical custody of their son with a petition to the court that he be granted joint custody and visitation rights.
To date, there is no official announcement judgment yet on the Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose divorce proceedings. However, the two have an existing prenuptial agreement in place regarding property and money settlement. According to a TMZ report cited by the Daily Mail, Amber could be in line for a $1 million settlement plus upwards of $5,000 a month as part of an eight page prenuptial agreement. According to NY Daily News, Wiz has agreed to pay spousal support and has acknowledged his commitment to the terms and conditions of their prenuptial agreement. But, he wants to share physical and legal custody and has hired high-profile divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, the attorney tapped by Kim Kardashian, Maria Shriver and Britney Spears in their bitter splits, to get his way, says the news website.
Both Wiz and Amber seemed to have already moved on following the collapse of their 14-month-old marriage. On October 6, the rapper posted a picture to his Instagram page where he is shown smiling with the caption, "peace of mind." Amber during the October 16 XXIV Karat's Launch Party at The Beverly Hilton Hotel told US Weekly, "I'm okay. I'm doing pretty good. I am going through a divorce and technically I'm single I guess you could say but I'm just not ready for that [resume dating.]" She added: "I'm focused on my son and I'm focused on work and I really don't have time for a man right now."
