"The current status of me and my husband [is] we are separated at the moment. And, we're just... everybody has their marital issues. And right now, you know, we're separated," said 31-year-old reality TV star, book author and businesswoman Toya Wright in an interview with Necole Bitchie. But she added that they are still trying to make their marriage work. According to her, "I'm just praying for him and praying for our situation. I'm a person that is all about love and our family and I don't like to give up. Especially being married two times. I don't even like to go through the whole dating stage and all of that. I love my husband and I'm praying that we can get through this and he can get back right to the person that I met because he's not the person that I met. This whole situation has changed him into someone else."

Toya used to be married to the rapper Lil Wayne (real name Dwayne Michel Carter) with whom she has a daughter. They divorced in 2006. In 2011, she married former producer Memphitz (Mickey Wright), the ex-husband of K. Michelle (Kimberly Michelle Pate) who has publicly accused him of domestic abuse.

Memphitz has also gone on the record that he and Toya are separated at the moment but that he still loves his wife. "Yes. I'm definitely separated from my wife. Now don't get me wrong... I love my wife. Nothing has changed as far as the love... there are no love deficiencies going on, I just decided to love myself more," he told Sister 2 Sister. He also revealed that he is currently on a legal battle with the Viacom network which has recently greatly affected his career and his life.

Toya revealed that the public accusation by his ex-wife K. Michelle, his legal woes with the network which aired the one-sided accusation, plus the fact that she's now the sole breadwinner in the family, may have taken their toll on Memphitz' mental health. According to her, he's now seeing a psychiatrist for counselling. "It was about him getting his identity back because every time he steps outside- 'You a woman beater. I don't like you,' and this and that. 'Oh, Wayne taking care of him.' I guess that kind of drove him crazy because he's like 'I had my own sh*t before I even met you. I was a VP at a label, doing my own thing...' but he started blaming me for stuff and it's like 'It's not my fault what happened with you and your ex.' That was going on before me. That's what caused you to be [blackballed by the industry]," she said in the interview.
