‘Vikings Season 3’ News: Raid of Paris is the Most Challenging Exploit Lodbrok Will Come Across
The third season of the Canadian-Irish historical drama television series Vikings is set to premiere on February 19 on History in Canada and in the United States.
Filmed in Ireland, Vikings is inspired by the tales about the Viking Ragnar Lodbrok, one of the best-known mythological Norse heroes and notorious as the scourge of France and England. It portrays Ragnar as a Viking farmer who pioneers the first daring raids into England with the support of fellow warriors, his brother Rollo, and his ex-wife, the shield maiden Lagertha.
A new trailer is released for the upcoming return of Ragnar Lodbrok to our TV screens. The greatest challenge the new King of Denmark will foresee is the raid of Paris and will benchmark Lodbrok as a fearless King.
The cast includes Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lodbrok, Katheryn Winnick as Lagertha, Clive Standen as Rollo, Jessalyn Gilsig as Siggy, Gustaf Skarsgård as Floki, George Blagden as Athelstan, Alexander Ludwig as Bjorn, Alyssa Sutherland as Aslaug and Linus Roache as King Ecbert of Wessex.
As is to be expected, there's plenty of blood, sweat and sex in the new preview, which also features expanded roles for King Ecbert and Princess Kwenthrith (Amy Bailey) as they join forces with the viking raiders. The season will also present new romantic prospects for Lagertha and an unlikely opportunity for monk Athelstan as the warriors continue their exploration of new lands.
Vikings Season 3 premieres Thursday, Feb. 19 at 10 p.m. on History.
