‘The Expendables 4’ News: Might Be Delayed Due to Stallone’s ‘Rocky’ and ‘Rambo’ Film Continuations
The Expendables franchise will not stop after the third lukewarm response from audiences and the team is now planning for a fourth installment, fifth installment and an all-female Expendables soon to hit the screens.
The films in the franchise were starred in by A-list actors and had always been headlined by Sylvester Stallone and buddy Arnold Schwarzenegger along with producer Avi Lerner.
The Expendables 4 cast will include James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan. Stallone expresses his interest to cast Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the villain. His original choice was veteran and award-winning actor, Jack Nicholson. Hulk Hogan claimed on his Twitter account that he will be in the fourth film. Boxing champion Manny Pacquiao had been courted by both Stallone and Schwarzenegger to join the cast too, after they visited Pacquiao's locker room during his match with Chris Algieri. Jean Claude van Damme also expresses his desire to be part of the fourth film. Van Damme was part of the second installment.
Jackie Chan, who was supposed to join in with the third installment, is now been rumored to have been casted in the coming sequel.
The release date is set for 2017 and maybe that has something to do with scheduling with the current cast of characters, but nothing has been said by those behind the movie. According to one online source, the reason for the delay is that Stallone is filming the last movie in the Rocky series, after which he will gear up for Rambo 5: Last Blood and then he will have time to start filming The Expendables 4.
