‘CSI’ CBS Season 15 Won’t Be the Last for the Show, But it Will be for George Eads And Another Mystery Member of the Original Cast

CBS' CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will be taking a break from its weekly programming schedule before it airs the penultimate episode for its 15th season, titled "Under My Skin." As already previously announced by the network via TV Line, there will only be 18 episodes for this season instead of the usual 22 to give way for, among others, the spinoff series CSI: Cyber which is slated to take over CSI's 10:00 pm Sunday time slot.

Show creator Anthony Zuiker however assures fans that season 15 will not be the last season yet for the second longest running scripted non-animated US primetime TV series (behind only to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zuiker said: "I would not be satisfied [if season 15 was the end]. I think CSI should go as long as it wants to go. I feel like we have such amazing talent with [stars] Ted Danson and Elisabeth Shue that it hopefully goes for a long, long time."

For her part, CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler went on record saying that: "The show continues to be a strong performer. It does very well in its time period. You look at the journey that show has gone on, and adding Ted Danson and Elisabeth Shue has really taken the show in a whole new direction. So we don't know yet what is going to happen with the show. We're just incredibly proud it continues to do well."

Regarding CSI'final episode for season 15, another report from TV Line says that it will be titled "End Game" and that it will guest Eric Roberts who will be reprising his role as Brother Daniel Larson, the smooth-talking preacher-pimp featured in the Season 13 finale and the Season 14 premiere. Also, as revealed by TV Guide, the Gig Harbor Killer will be back and "a cast member who has been a part of the show since Season 1 will become a victim" of his crime. However, it won't be George Eads' Nick Stokes who will be getting a touching send-off that leaves the door open for possible visits in the future. Eads previously announced that season 15 will be his last for CSI. The cast members who have been with the show since season 1 are Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle), Eric Szmanda (Greg Sanders), Robert David Hall (Dr. Robbins), and David Berman (Dr.Dave Phillips) so one of them will also be leaving CSI after season 15.
