‘Stalker’ CBS Season 1 Could Also Be the Show’s Last Season: Lead Stars Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott Are Now Officially Engaged!
The CBS show Stalker Season 1, episode 14 airs Wednesday, January 28, at its appointed 10:00 pm time slot and is entitled "My Hero." Written by Kevin Williamson, it will have LAPD's Threat Assessment Unit next taking up the case of a female lifeguard when she becomes the obsession of a mysterious stalker.
Stalker is police procedural drama TV series centered on Lieutenant Beth Davis (Maggie Q) and recent transfer to the Threat Assessment Unit former NYPD homicide detective Jack Larsen (Dylan McDermott) as they investigate stalking incidents that range from the common romantic obsession to voyeurism and worse. Aside from the specific incidents of stalking that are explored in each episode, the show also peels little by little some intriguing mysteries surrounding the past of the show's lead characters. There are indications that Jack's behavior in his previous post in New York may cause serious trouble for him in the near future as well as clues as to the extent of trauma that Beth suffered as a former victim of stalking herself. With Davis and Larsen on the team are young but eager Det. Ben Caldwell (Victor Rasuk) and deceptively smart Det. Janice Lawrence (Mariana Klaveno).
While Stalker had earned mostly negative reviews from the critics, the series was initially well-received by the viewers, garnering 9.065 million viewers for its debut episode. However, succeeding episodes did not fare so well in the all important ratings. According to a prediction by Zap2it, "Stalker is certain to be canceled. Its only chance for survival was if it beat out Madam Secretary for the "third rookie" Fall drama renewal for CBS. When Madam Secretary was renewed, that chance vanished."
The good news though is that the two lead stars are now engaged to be married at a still undisclosed date. According to US Weekly, the 53-year-old McDermott proposed to Maggie, 35, a few months ago, gifting her with a ring while they were vacationing time in Hawaii.
