‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 6, Episode 12 Will Follow When Something Went Horribly Wrong with Caroline’s Experimental Cure for her Mother’s Cancer
The hit CW show The Vampire Diaries Season 6, episode 12 airs Thursday, January 29, at the 8:00-9:00 time slot and is entitled "Prayer for the Dying." Directed by Jeffrey Hunt from a script written by Brett Matthews and Rebecca Sonnenshine, the episode will be taking off from where last week's "Woke Up with a Monster" left.
In last week's episode, Caroline (Candice Accola), after bringing her mother home from the hospital, was seen traveling with the vampire doppelganger Stefan (Paul Wesley) to North Carolina in search of a cure for her mother's cancer. She wanted to talk to the top oncologist while he wanted to check on Sarah Salvatore. After an initially successful experiment, Caroline was able to convince her mother to drink her blood. She did not see that the subject of the experiment soon after keeled over, dead in a pool of his own blood. Also seen last week, Damon and Jo with help from Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Alaric were able to rescue the Elena (Nina Dobrev) from her abductor Kai (guest star Chris Wood) who wants to take over his family's coven.
In this week's show, according to the studio's official summary, when Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) and Luke's (guest star Chris Brochu) father arrives to town to celebrate their birthday, they try and convince him to let Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) and Kai take their place in the merge ceremony. After Tyler (Michael Trevino) finds out that the merge is happening sooner than he expected, he urges Liv to let him talk to her father. Meanwhile, after Caroline's plan to cure her mother Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) takes an unexpected and devastating turn, Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) gather at the hospital, while Jo attempts to save the sheriff's life. Lastly, with the merge set to take place, Damon's risky plan quickly sends things spiraling out of control, forcing one of the twins to take matters into their own hands.
