Kevin Hart Critical Response in New 'The Wedding Ringer' Movie and 'Saturday Night Live' Performance
Saturday Night Live begins its year 2015 with a bang, in the form of Kevin Hart, where the comedian began his opening monologue lamenting about his house's raccoon infestation.
"Bottom line, we got a thug raccoon running around outside! My son goes outside, and the first thing he said was, 'Dad, I'm scared. Can you come with me?' I said, 'Absolutely not. This is your journey. This is about you becoming a man.'" NBC Bay Area quotes the actor.
Kevin Hart hosted Saturday Night Live last Saturday (Jan 17) on NBC. You can check out all of his skits as they come available on SNL's Youtube page here.
His appearance in SNL follows the release of his film, The Wedding Ringer where he plays the part of Jimmy Callahan. His character plays the "best man services" where he will be a best man at your wedding but at a price. His services even extends to funerals, if one dies shortly after they wed. His co-star, Frozen's Josh Gad, plays the role of an overweight and socially-awkward lawyer who is about to marry his fiancée Gretchen, portrayed by Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting.
There was an observation of Kevin Hart's The Wedding Ringer movie from ABC and it seemed like it was a rip-off of the 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers though the former had been written before the latter.
ABC also comments, "The Wedding Ringer is a funny movie. Brilliant? No. But funny, certainly, though if you're easily offended, it's definitely not for you. Hart and Gad make you laugh simply by showing up. Add a moderately funny script, and "The Wedding Ringer" is a winner".
Basing on that, if you are looking for a good romantic comedy to sit on during a rainy day, The Wedding Ringer is something that you should look out for. However, if you need something A-plus for a movie, this film may not be your cup of tea.
