'Bones' Season 10 Returns With Some ‘Good News’ for Emily Deschanel’s Brennan and David Boreanaz’s Booth

The Fox hit show Bones Season 10 is on a break with the 11th episode (still untitled) scheduled to air on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at its usual 8:00 pm time slot.

The cited reason for the long break following the mid-season finale is to give the networks' newer shows Backstrom and Empire a chance and also because American Idol may broadcast some two-night episodes for a while. Still another conjectured reason may because Emily Deschanel's pregnancy will have to be written in into the storylines in the show's remaining episodes for the season. No less than Deschannel herself confirmed this new development. She told Zap2it: "They are going to write it in ... As far as I have heard, yes."

Bones showrunner Stephen Nathan in a statement to TVLine on December 10 said: "We are so happy for Emily. As before, rather than try to hide this from a sophisticated audience, we are integrating her pregnancy into the show... Booth and Brennan, like most couples today, will continue to work, play and catch murderers - maybe they're unique in this respect - as their family grows. As with most new situations that have arisen in 10 years, we feel that this can only enhance the show. Although I'm sure there will be a vocal group of fans eager to attack me, I hope they will be pleasantly surprised by what we have in store."

Deschanel's first pregnancy was also integrated into the show's Season 7 storylines. The birth of her real-life son Henry was made to coincide with the arrival of Brennan and Booth's daughter, Christine. Bones' seventh season also has just 13 episodes and was truncated in a way to fit in with Deschanel's pregnancy and maternity leave.

Bones stars Deschanel in the title role and David Boreanaz as FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth along with cast regulars Michaela Conlin as forensic artist Angela Montenegro, T.J. Thyne as Dr. Jack Hodgins, Tamara Taylor as Dr. Camille Saroyan, and John Boyd as junior FBI agent James Aubrey. The show's recurring cast includes Sunnie Pelant as Booth and Brennan's daughter Christine, Patricia Belcher as prosecutor Caroline Julian, Ryan O'Neal as Brennan's father Max, Carla Gallo as intern Daisy Wick, Eugene Byrd as intern Clark Edison, Michael Grant Terry as intern Wendell Bray, Pej Vahdat as intern Araztoo Vaziri, Brian Klugman as intern Oliver Wells, Ignacio Serricchio as intern as Rodolfo Fuentes, and Laura Spencer as intern as Jessica Warren.
