'The Vampire Diaries' CW Season 6 Adds Tristin Mays To Cast For Extended Role
CW's hit show The Vampire Diaries has announced that Tristin Mays has been given an extended role for new episodes.
Mays plays the recurring role of Sarah. The real Sarah - The Vampire Diaries introduced a faux Sarah earlier in the season, who was an old friend of Sarah's - is described as a bright and gifted student of photography, whose life is turned upside down as she unravels the mystery of her true family history.
Sarah is the daughter of Zach Salvatore (Chris William Martin), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan's (Paul Wesley) distant nephew.
Mays will make her debut in the new episode on Jan. 22.
The Vampire Diaries is based on a book series of the same name by L.J. Smith, and was developed for television by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec.
The Vampire Diaries follows the life of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who falls for a handsome century-old vampire named Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Their lives grow more and more complicated as Stefan's vicious older vampire brother Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) also returns to town with a vendetta against his brother and the Founding Families's descendants. However Damon quickly becomes their greatest ally in their fight against evil. The series is set in a fictional town heavily charged with supernatural history, known as Mystic Falls, Virginia. Additional storylines revolve around other residents, most notably Elena's younger brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), her best friend Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham), who discovers that she is a powerful witch, and their kind but insecure friend Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) who later becomes stronger and more mature after being turned into a vampire.
The series has been renewed for an seventh season to air during the 2015-16 television season.As of December 4, 2014, 120 episodes of The Vampire Diaries have aired.
