'House of Cards' Season 3 Official Trailer Launched; Watch Trailer (Video)
Netflix launched the official trailer of the third installment of the hit show "House of Cards". Actor Kevin Spacey who plays the lead role of Frank Underwood in the series also bagged a Golden Globe for his stellar role in the series and Netflix took the opportunity to launch the official trailer right on the heels of the win.
In the edgy trailer, Frank Underwood says in a voice-over that it takes courage to keep the faith when the stakes are so high. He and his on-screen wife Claire Underwood are the President of the United States and the First Lady respectively and they are shown to be in the thick of things. Claire Underwood says in a snippet that they are 'murderers', a candid reference to the murder of Zoey Barnes, which was committed by her husband in an apparent effort to hush things up. However, in a brutal answer, Frank says that they are not 'murderers' and instead are 'survivors'.
Frank's chief of staff Doug was murdered in the season 2 finale by his lady-love - Rachel, who could also be a potential threat to the President, as she knows how she was a pawn in trapping Joe Russo into drinking again, which lead to his downfall. Frank Underwood later murdered Congressman Russo, so that the Vice-President could feel his shoes, thus paving a clear path for the scheming Underwood to the Vice-President's office and ultimately the President's office.
The new show starts on Feb 27, 2015 and promises edge-of-the-seat excitement for the fans with its numerous twists and turns. In the trailer, Lucas Goodwin's mission to showcase the conspiracy also seems an integral part of the upcoming series. In the third season, Frank Underwood is going to have his hands full managing numerous threats and running the nation as well.
