A drama centered around the relationship between journalist Michael Finkel and Christian Longo, an FBI Most Wanted List murderer who for years lived outside the U.S. under Finkel's name.
The upcoming drama-thriller movie True Story starring James Franco, Jonah Hill and Felicity Jones has released a new extended trailer, which you can check out above. The film also stars Gretchen Mol, Betty Gilpin and John Sharian.
It is rare to see Franco and Hill in a serious movie together, but from the trailer it actually looks really interesting. True Story is set to release to limited theaters on April 10th.
The film is directed by Rupert Goold and written by David Kajganich. It is based on the memoir by Michael Finkel. Brad Pitt is producing the film and Fox Searchlight Pictures will distribute it.
In the movie, Franco plays Christian Longo, a man who was on the FBI's most wanted list for murdering his wife and three children in Oregon, and who had also been hiding under the identity of Michael Finkel, a journalist, played by Hill. The film will first premiere at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival before hitting theaters in the United States.
Franco's first prominent acting role was the lead character Daniel Desario on the short-lived cult hit television program Freaks and Geeks. He later played the title character in the TV biographical film James Dean (2001), for which he won a Golden Globe Award. He played Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002-2007). He is also known for his roles in the films Flyboys (2006), Pineapple Express (2008), Milk (2008), 127 Hours (2010), Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Oz the Great and Powerful (2013), Spring Breakers (2013), This Is the End (2013) and The Interview (2014). For his role in 127 Hours, Franco was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor.
