Ed Sheeran Shares His Favorite Taylor Swift Song For Her '1989' Album, See Which One He Picks!
Ed Sheeran spoke recently with DigitalSpy about his big year and hit album. The conversation also switched on to his good friend and musical peer, Taylor Swift and he shared about his favorite song on her new 1989 album.
Below you can see some of what the 23-year-old singer/songwriter spoke about. You can read the whole interview here.
On his favorite album of the year: "Favorite album of the year is probably Hozier's. I'm surprised because it's blowing up everywhere and I don't think the UK's picked up on that yet. People need to pick up on it. I think he's still in the kind of cool indie share zone in Britain, whereas he's blown up massively worldwide, and I'm just waiting for [the album] to blow up massively here, which it will."
On his 2015 stadium tour: "Everything's going to be bigger. I've got lots of things happening. I wanted to sell the gigs out before I announced the supports. So the first and second date are completely gone and the third is 85 per cent sold. So once that one has gone I'll announce the supports, because I don't want to have anyone's else's crowds there. I want it to be my crowd, and me treating the crowd with some sick support acts. But I've got some big, big people opening up which should be great."
On his favorite 1989 song: "'Bad Blood'. The first song she played me was 'Blank Space', and the second song was 'Bad Blood', and I've always loved that from the beginning. I thought it should have been the first single, but I think probably 'Shake It Off' was a better choice."
Sheeran new album X topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart earlier this Summer in July selling 210,000 copies in it's first week, according to figures from Nielsen SoundScan.
His debut album, +, containing the singles "The A Team" and "Lego House", was certified quintuple platinum in the United Kingdom. In 2012, he won two Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
"The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards and he performed the song in duet with Elton John during the ceremony. He was nominated for Best New Artist at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
