Orange is the new Black Season 3 News and Updates: Plot will dwell on faith; Plus a Christmas video shared by the cast
According to news from IB times, the production for Orange is the new Black Season 3 has wrapped up but no definite date of airing has been revealed.
Jenji Kohan, the creator of the acclaimed series, had said that the new season will explore more on "faith" which was confirmed by Uzo Aduba, who plays Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren and described faith as "something we chose to believe in." Fans will also find her in a "broken place" and Suzanne is no exception to the subject of faith.
Meanwhile, the cast of the Netflix series has released a holiday song video featuring Sophia, Piper Chapman, Alex, Big Boo, Crazy Eyes, Black Cindy, Pennsatucky, Nicky Taystee, Morello, Gloria and Red. They are seen belting out a fun rendition of "12 Days Of Litchfield" Christmas Carol.
Although no definite release date from Netflix has been announced yet, speculations are heavy that it will air by June 2015.
The new season will have Laura Prepon, who plays Alex Vause, back as series regular.
Mary Steenburgen will appear as Pornstarche's mother, although Pornstarche will not join season 3. Marsha Stephanie Blake has signed on for a recurring role as a corrections officer.
As expected Alex will be reunited with her on and off lover Piper Chapman, but it will be a volatile reunion especially when Alex finds out that Piper is behind her return to prison.
In addition to Steenburgen and Blake, Mike Birbiglia and Blair Brown have also signed on to star in Season 3. The details about their characters have not been revealed. Earlier in an interview with People, Natasha Lyonne, who plays Nicky Nichols, described Season 3 in three words: "So much bloodshed."
