Madonna Released Her New Album ‘Rebel Heart’ Early, Likely Due to Internet Leaks of Unreleased Songs

Madonna's plans for her new album have drastically changed with the apparent leak of 13 of her unreleased songs this week.

She was not pleased at all and released a statement reading, "Thank you for not listening! Thank you for your loyalty! Thank you for waiting and if you have heard please know they are unfinished demos stolen long ago and not ready to be presented to the world / This is artistic rape!! These are early leaked demo's half of which wont even make it on my album the other half have changed and evolved. This is a form of terrorism. Wtf!!!! Why do people want to destroy artistic process??? Why steal? Why not give me the opportunity to finish and give you my very best?"

So with that, without any official announcement, her new album officially titled Rebel Heart showed up on iTunes over the weekend. When you preorder, you immediately get 6 songs available for download. The full tracklist for the album includes 19 songs total, so we still have 13 more songs (which might not even be mixed and finished yet).

Madonna plans to release more songs on February 9th and the full album in March from Interscope Records. While this was definitely the plan she had in mind for her new album Rebel Heart, she seems to be moving as pro-actively as possible to take control of the situation at hand.

Madonna recorded with Nicki Minaj and other guests for this album, with producers including Diplo and Kanye West. Click HERE to preorder Rebel Heart and download the first 6 songs immediately. Word has already come in that it has gone to No. 1 in over 20 countries already, which shows her selling power is still very high, especially for the quick release she laid out.

Good for her for making the best out of the situation. The internet is a huge double sword for musicians these days and leaks are becoming more and more of a problem with artists.
