"The Voice" on NBC has launched many singing careers into the public, but maybe none more unique then New York City teenager, Melanie Martinez. She became known on the show for her soft, soothing voice and artistic arrangements. Melanie also was known for the two-toned hair split right down the middle.
Melanie has just released her latest music video for her song "Carousel" from her debut The Dollhouse EP. You can check out the video above.
"We shot this video in a really cool space at the Metropolitan Studios in Long Island City, NY. It looks and feels like an old creepy house, and after we dressed it up with our own props it was the perfect backdrop for the song and performance. We all had a lot of fun," the 19-year-old singer shared with Just Jared Jr.
If the song sounds familiar to you, it is because "Carousel" was featured in the trailer for American Horror Story: Freak Show and jumped to the Top 10 on iTunes upon the release of the trailer.
Melanie Martinez was on Season 3 of "The Voice" and was on Team Adam, quickly becoming a fan favorite. She was known for creating some of the most unique cover arrangements for her performances in the shows history as well as helping the crew design the backdrops that she had envisioned for each performance on the show.
On April 22, 2014, she released the lead single "Dollhouse," from her debut EP The Dollhouse.
