Brad Pitt Introduces Rihanna in a Funny Way and Jokingly Calls Jay-Z “an evil impresario known for churning out hit records”
Brad Pitt is asking everyone to intervene so Rihanna can choose the right way. Well, this was of course a joke! On Thursday, Dec. 11, Pitt amused everyone at Rihanna's First Annual Diamond Ball when he gave a speech about the singer's beginnings in Barbados and what she has accomplished right now.
The hunky 50-year-old actor who is not seen with wife Angelina Jolie as she is busy promoting her film, Unbroken, was the person who had introduced Rihanna at the charity event, which benefitted the singer's Clara Lionel Foundation.
"Rihanna. Female phenom. Cultural icon. Provocateur. Advocate... and that voice," Pitt began, speaking to a crowd that included Kim Kardashian and mom Kris Jenner, Big Sean, Ellen Pompeo and her husband Chris Ivery, Salma Hayek, Nikki Reed, and Kat Graham.
"I've often asked the very question that you yourself are asking right now: What the f--k went wrong? I give you exhibit A: Yes, look at that young girl before you. All full of hopes and dreams. Living a humble existence in the Barbados parish, her whole life ahead of her," Pitt joked according to US.
Pitt even continued to blame Jay-Z who described the producer as "a bad crowd led by the dubious nefarious character known as the Jay Z. For those of you not in the know, the Jay Z was an evil impresario known for churning out hit records, and ripping insane lyrics and fresh beats. Needless to say, it was all downhill from there."
Rihanna was discovered by a record executive who has on holiday in Barbados. Her discovery prompted her to relocate in the US and had auditioned for Jay-Z before she signed up for Def Jam Records. The Fury star explained the impressive resume the singer has throughout the years as he continued his speech.
"I hate to see such potential squandered," he joked. "I believe it's important that we view tonight not just as a wonderful fundraiser for a great cause, but as an intervention."
Before finishing his speech, he showed to the audience what might become of Rihanna if she does not stop her impressive resume with an altered photo of the singer as an overweight woman eating junk food on the couch. In the end the actor concluded, "Rihanna, put down that sandwich, get off your ass and do something. God damn it, just do something with your life. Thank you."
