Beyonce Passes Dolly Parton to Become Grammy's Most Nominated Woman in History

The first round of 2015 Grammy nominations were announced this week and Beyonce passed a legend with her latest nomination. Beyonce was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album, which gave her a staggering 47 nominations for her career. This moves her past Dolly Parton, who has 46 nominations, for most nominated Female Artist in Grammy history. 

Beyonce has had better luck actually winning as well, taking home 17 Grammys of our her 46 nominations up to date. Dolly has won 7 Grammys of her 46 nominations. Dolly Parton was honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.

From the first batch of nominees for this year, the big potential winners include Taylor Swift, Meghan Trainor, Ed Sheeran, and Ariana Grande
