'Star Wars: Episode VII' Release Date 2015, Watch First Official Trailer for 'The Force Awakens' from J.J. Abrams Here (VIDEO)
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens from director J.J. Abrams has officially released their first full trailer for the highly anticipated movie. You can check out the newly released trailer above.
The movie is set thirty years of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983).
Star Wars: Episode VII will feature a new cast member from the popular HBO show "Game of Thrones". Actor Miltos Yerolemou, who played Arya Stark's sword teacher in the first season of the hit show will be joining the sci-fi movie. Not a bad stretch for Yerolemou, going from one of television's biggest shows to one of movie's biggest franchises.
Yerolemou's role in Star Wars is not known yet, but it is expected that his skill with a sword could be turned into skill with a lightsaber. He has most recently been filming the drama Wolf Hall for the BBC and would be the second "Game of Thrones" actor to join Star Wars alongside Gwendoline Christie.
Another cast addition is Christina Chong, who is best known for her role in 24: Live Another Day. It is unknown what role she will play in the upcoming sci-fi film. Along with Chong, the cast has added Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley.
In other Star Wars: Episode VII news, filming has resumed after star Harrison Ford broke his leg in June while on the set for the new film. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that after a delay in production to let Ford heal, filming has resumed and is back on track at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England.
Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.
Among the cast members who will not be returning for Star Wars 7 are Billy Dee Williams Ewan McGregor (ghost Obi-Wan). Star Wars: Episode VII screenplay was written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan. Producers will be Kathleen Kennedy, Abrams, and Bryan Burk. John Williams is back to compose the music for the sci-fi film.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens is slated to hit theaters in the U.S. in December 2015. You can always check out the latest at the 'Star Wars' official website HERE.
