'Thor' & 'Avengers' Star Chris Hemsworth Named People's Sexiest Man Alive 2014, Watch Funny Reveal on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Here (VIDEO)
Break-out movie star Chris Hemsworth has been named People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2014. The 31-year-old actor, who plays the lead role of Thor in the Marvel movie series and The Avengers movie series, now is added to a list that includes Adam Levine, Channing Tatum and many other winners from previous years.
The new was announced on Tuesday night (Nov 18) during Jimmy Kimmel Live as Chris initially answered questions while his face was behind a mask and his voice was changed. You can watch the funny exchange with Kimmel and Hemsworth above.
"I think you've bought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house," Chris shared with People. "I can just say to her, 'Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don't need to do the dishes anymore, I don't need to change nappies. I'm above that. I've made it now.' "
Chris is showing no signs of slowing down in 2015 with several new movies coming out including The Avengers: Age of Ultron, In the Heart of the Sea, Blackhat, and Vacation.
The upcoming Avengers 2 movie Avengers: Age Of Ulton is expected to be the Summer 2015 blockbuster and is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2015. The cast promises that it will be 'epic' and live up to all of the hype following The Avengers box office smash in 2011. The movie stars Robert Downy Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner among others.
Robert Downey Jr., who plays Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel Universe, shared some spoilers and plots news for "The Avengers" sequel.
He shared in an interview that the stakes "are about as high as they've been. But the nice thing in Age of Ultron, what Joss Whedon has done exceptionally well - I've never really seen it done like this before - [is that this movie] really is a Swiss Watch of character and action and stakes. It's easily the best bad guy plot I've ever read in a script, let alone gone out and shot."
When asked about where Tony Stark is when Avengers 2 begins Downey said: "Tony is kind of OK. They're wrapping up some old business and it seems like everything is fine. The problem is, it's always that thing where Tony says, 'I have a really good idea.'"
Chris Hemsworth adds "This was on another level. It was amazing," he said at Comic-Con 2014. "You all of a sudden realize what we're apart of and what we're involved in and what it means to those fans."
