Rumors about Frankel's possible return to the show had been going on for months ahead of Monday's announcement she'd return. As for the rest of the cast, there have been a few changes. In addition to Drescher's exit, LuAnn de Lesseps returned to her full-time role as official housewife, while Ramona Singer has been demoted to a friend of the wives.
Following the announcement of her return, Frankel told press she was "genuinely excited" about reuniting with her former co-stars. Real Housewives creator Andy Cohen also spoke out.
"Bethenny is one of the most popular Housewives in the history of the franchise, and I couldn't be more excited she is coming home to Bravo," he shared in a statement.
Ironically, Cohen wasn't always on board with Bethenny Frankel being on The Real Housewives of New York City. In the video below, the Watch What Happens Live host revealed why he almost didn't cast her on the show.
