Bravo Offered Bethenny Frankel Over $1 Million To Return To 'RHONY'
In her 2011 publication, A Place of Yes, the former Real Housewives of New York City star claimed she had a horrible childhood, plagued with “eating disorders, alcoholism, mental illness and violence,” but her mother, Bernadette Birk, claims otherwise.
“Bethenny spread vicious and horrible lies about me simply for publicity,” Birk told Radar Online on Oct. 17, suggesting Frankel used her to give her daytime talk show, Bethennny, a boost. “Her ratings were down and they soared!"
Bethenny Frankel Won't Return To 'RHONY' If Jill Zarin Is On Board
Frankel and Birk haven't spoken in nearly 10 years, and Frankel isn't in touch with her father, Robert Frankel, either. According to her book, he abandoned her when she was just a toddler. Although her mother eventually remarried, her stepfather, John Parisella, wasn't much better than her real dad, and in A Place Of Yes, Frankel labeled him "unstable and psychiotic."
“I gave her the benefit of the doubt, and I always left the door open for her, but she destroyed it and now that door is shut forever!” Birk continued. “She is so vain, and loves herself so much, that if she even got so much as a scratch she would run and get plastic surgery.”
“I will never speak to her again,” she added.
In recent weeks, Frankel has been reportedly contemplating a return to The Real Housewives of New York City for the series' seventh season. However, it has yet to be confirmed what she decided.
