Phaedra Parks Under "Tremendous Strain" Over Husband's Prison Sentence
In a new interview with Ellen Degeneres, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star confirmed her plans to divorce Apollo Nida, and spoke of his recent guilty plea to charges of fraud.
"I have made that decision (to divorce him)," Parks told Degeneres, according to an Oct. 15 report by the New York Daily News, then hinting her soon-to-be ex-husband may have been behind rumors claiming she cheated. "I think sometimes when people are hurting they do things to hurt other people. There's been a lot of lashing out from Apollo because I think he's in a very angry place."

Parks and Nida had been married since 2009, and they have two children together, sons Aiden and Dylan. Following Nida's indictment on charges of fraud in Jan. 2014, rumors began to swirl regarding a possible divorce. However, in the months that followed, Parks stuck by her man.
"I didn't have any idea that this was going on until he called me and said, 'Hey I've been arrested,'" Parks explained, noting she believed her husband was innocent when the news initially broke.
Then, when Nida was sentenced, Parks was mysteriously absent from his trial, which further added to the divorce speculation. Nida then went on record, claiming he was "salty" over his wife's decision to skip the trial.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta premieres on Sunday, Nov. 2 on Bravo.
