Maynard, a 29-year-old newlywed, has caused a stir with her shocking decision to end her life "with dignity."

"I hope to enjoy however many days I have left on this beautiful earth and spend as much of it outside as I can surrounded by those I love," Maynard explained of her decision, according to an Oct. 8 report by Life & Style. "I hope to pass in peace. The reason to consider life and what's of value is to make sure you're not missing out. Seize the day. What's important to you? What do you care about? What matters? Pursue that. Forget the rest."

Shortly after her wedding earlier this year, Maynard was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, the most fatal form of brain cancer. When the doctors' gave a precaution of how life post-sickness would be, which included a short six months filled with pain, Maynard made the decision to move herself and her family from California to Oregon.

Oregon is one of five states that have the death-with-dignity law, which allows terminally ill patients to take a medication to peacefully end their lives.

Maynard has received two bottles of pills, but says she won't take them until Nov. 1, allowing her to celebrate her husband's birthday one last time.

Maynard and her family started The Brittany Maynard Fund to help others in her position, so they could peacefully die in their own home state.
