'Teen Mom' Cast Will Return For Fifth Season In 2015
During the filming of the Teen Mom special, Ask The Moms, in August, Portwood and Evans put an end to their ongoing feud, which has played out on social media and in the press in recent months. It all started when they were asked to address an interview from March, in which Portwood slammed Evans as "irresponsible and immature," and suggested she'd benefit from prison time.
"I think we’re both in different situations and we both just dealt with it differently,” Evans said, according to an Oct. 6 report by Radar Online. In response, Portwood explained, “Everything that I said in that interview, it wasn’t to be an a**hole and it wasn’t to be mean. It was simply because she’s going through the same sh*t that I used to go through."
'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood Hopes Tell-All Will Help Others
In her new book, Never Too Late, Portwood opened up about her struggles as a teenage mother, as well as her issues with addiction. For years, the Teen Mom star was abusing prescription medication and making horrible decisions (including a physical altercation with her daughter's father, Gary Shirley) because of it.
In June 2012, Portwood gave up on her recovery and entered prison, where she remained until Nov. 2013. Behind bars, Portwood was able to get clean and get focused on what she wanted for her future.
“It’s words or encouragement and wisdom because I’ve been there, done that," Portwood explained of her comments to Evans. "I’m not saying I’m this wise person, but I did go to prison.”
“I’ve had no hatred toward Amber at all, I’ve actually related a lot to her because me and her were in the same boat,” Evans added.
