Jenelle Evans isn't planning to regain custody of her four-year-old son, Jace.

Although Jenelle expressed interest in taking over parental rights to her son earlier this year, it appears that she's since changed her mind. During a recent episode of Teen Mom 2, Jenelle explained why regaining custody isn't her top priority.
“I feel kinda bad for my mom,” Jenelle explained in the clip, via a Sept. 25 report by Reality Tea. “I mean, I know he’s my child and stuff, but I feel like she is going to feel lost.” Evans is concerned her mother will be lonely if Jace isn't around for her to care for.

Since Jace's birth in 2009, Barbara Evans has been his legal guardian, but now that Jenelle has gotten her life together, fans expected to see her pursue custody. Even her boyfriend, Nathan Griffith, was surprised to see her pulling back.
“So just because the woman is lonely is why you feel sorry for her and the reason you do not want custody of your son … That’s kinda what I heard,” he told Jenelle.
According to Jenelle, her mother's loniness isn't her only concern. She'd also like to buy a house and settle into life with her newborn son Kaiser, before heading to court to regain custody of Jace.
In addition, Jenelle claims Jace doesn't want to live with her and Nathan. Instead, he prefers to stay with Barbara and go to school during the day.
Teen Mom 2 airs on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. on MTV.
