Dana Wilkey Lawsuit: Former 'RHOBH' Star Wants $25,000 Bond Returned [Video]
Dana Wilkey wants the $25,000 she posted as bond returned.
Former 'RHOBH' Star Dana Wilkley Arrested For Fraud
After being arrested for fraud in June of this year, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star posted $25,000 bond to an assistant United States attorney. Now, three months later, Wilkey wants her money back.
According to a Sept. 16 report by Radar Online, Wilkey's lawyers recently sent a letter to a United States District Court judge, claiming Wilkey “met the…spirit of her release conditions,” and deserves to have the money returned.
Will 'RHOBH' Season 5 Be Drama-Free?
In June, Wilkey was arrested and indicted on wire fraud charges for entering a “fraudulent marketing contract” with two associates.
In their letter to the judge, Wilkey's attorneys claim the former reality star, who once bragged about her $25,000 sunglasses on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, desperately needs the money to care for her four-year-old son, John, and grandmother.
“While working, Dana Wilkey faces financial costs beyond her own defense,” the attorneys said. “She is a single mother of a young child and she is also responsible for the costs of caring for a 97-year-old grandmother. The continued posting of property is not reasonably necessary. It is a burden.”
Wilkey will appear in court on Sept. 24, where she will be facing 20 years in prison for each wire and conspiracy count.
Wilkey may need every penny she can get now, but just years ago she was living the high life in Beverly Hills. Below, take a look at the home she was living in while filming The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' second season.
