On Sept. 11, Teresa's crisis manager, Wendy Feldman, spoke out in her client's defense, claiming that despite reports of an impending divorce, the Real Housewives of New Jersey couple are closer than ever.
"There is no truth to the rumors that my clients Joe and Teresa Giudice are having any marital issues," Feldman said, according to an E! News report. "In fact, their legal issues have brought them closer together. They remain devoted to each other and their four beautiful daughters."
Teresa Giudice Is Confident She Won't Receive Jail Time
Teresa and Joe were charged with 39 counts of fraud in July 2013. Months later, three more charges were added. In March 2014, while filming the sixth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, they pled guilty. In the months since, Teresa and Joe's sentencing has been postponed twice. Previously set for July, the case was moved to Sept. 23. Months later, it was moved for a second time to Oct. 2.
Although the couple has dealt with their fair share of hardships this year, they remain united and months ago, Teresa gushed about her husband in an interview with E! News.
"Joe is my backbone. I'm his," Giudice said. "My daughters, you know, waking up every morning, seeing their beautiful smiles. They're healthy, that's what makes me happy."
Teresa is facing 21 to 27 months behind bars, while Joe is facing 46 months and a possible deportation (his citizenship is in Italy, not the U.S.).
