Ray Rice is staying strong as word of his earnings loss has hit the web.

Ray Rice's Wife Speaks Out About Elevator Video, Defends Him Against Media

Just as Rice spoke to ESPN, claiming he was staying strong for wife Janay Palmer, details about his money lost surfaced.

"I have to be strong for my wife. She is so strong…We are in good spirits," Rice said in the Sept. 9 interview with ESPN, via E! News. "We have a lot of people praying for us and we'll continue to support each other. I have to be there for [Janay] and my family right now and work through this."

Ray Rice Punches Wife In Second Leaked Elevator Video

On Monday, a second video of Rice's assault on Palmer was shared by TMZ (see below). In the video, Rice was seen getting into an elevator with Palmer at the Revel Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, N.J. on Feb. 15. In the seconds that followed, Rice was seen delivering a blow to Palmer's head, immediately knocking her to the ground. The first video featured Rice pulling an unconscious Palmer out of the elevator by her arms.

After the first video was made public, Rice publicly apologized and was suspended for two games by the NFL commission. However, after video number two hit the web, Rice was cut from the Baltimore Ravens and "suspended indefinitely" by the NFL.

According to a Sept. 9 report by E! News, Rice is set to lose $10 million of his five-year $40 million contract with the Ravens. In addition, Rice "has lost his annuity that he probably would have received for the rest of his life as an NFL Super Bowl-winning running back," Kurt Badenhausen of Forbes told E! "There is a value to that where you can go to every autograph show and get paid for appearances, which is easy money, and a personable guy like Ray Rice had that coming to him after he retired. Potentially that income of $500,000 to $1 million a year every year for the rest of his life is gone. I think that is the big blow in addition to the $10 million in salary."

Also on Tuesday, Rice received more bad news.

First, he was cut from Madden NFL 15. "With Ray Rice’s indefinite suspension from the NFL, he will be removed from Madden NFL 15," the tweet read. "The roster change will take place by this Friday.

Then, the Ravens announced they would be taking fans' Rice jerseys in exchange for one of another player. "The Baltimore Ravens will offer an exchange for Ray Rice jerseys at stadium stores. Details to come," the team's message to fans read.
