Leah Calvert Horse: 'Teen Mom 2' Star's Mom Makes Major Purchase Amid Struggles With Ali's Medical Bills
Leah Calvert is the proud owner of a new horse.
Although the reality star and mother of three is often seen struggling with her finances on episodes of MTV's Teen Mom 2, Leah and her family, including husband Jeremy, recently added a horse into the mix. However, according to Calvert's family, it wasn't Leah who made the purchase.
"The horse leah is holding is a gift from Grandma & Grandpa Spears because a horse is VERY therapeutic for Ali," Leah's mother, Dawn, explained on her official Facebook fan page on Aug. 31. Also included in the post was a photo of Leah and the horse.
On Twitter, after revealing the news of her new horse, Leah was questioned by several fans who wondered where she was getting the money for such a major purchase. After all, for months now, Leah has been having financial issues, which have left her unable to get her daughter, Ali, the wheelchair she needs.
While Leah's ex-husband, Corey Simms, has insurance for Ali, as well as her twin sister Aleeah, he hasn't been able to successfully make a claim for the chair, and because of Leah's financial situation, she cannot simply purchase it.
After receiving the horse from her mother, Calvert took to Twitter, where she shared the exciting news with many fans.
"I'm looking for a childs saddle and a child's handicapped saddle!" she wrote. "We just got our first horse and the girls are going to be ready to ride!"
Teen Mom 2 airs on Wednesday nights on MTV.
