George Teichner Marries Dana Lavette Cody: Aviva Drescher Skips Event
Aviva Drescher's father married his 25-year-old girlfriend over the weekend, but sadly, she did not attend.
On Aug. 3, Teichner, 76, married Dana Lavette Cody, 25, in a beach wedding in Malibu, Calif. in front of friends and family. However, Teichner's Real Housewives of New York City star daughter chose to skip the ceremony, likely because of her thoughts about their relationship, which she recently revealed.
"This is not my first choice,” Drescher revealed to Hollywood Life on Aug. 4. “I would much prefer my father to be with somebody at least my age. I don’t share the same values that my father has."
During the recently wrapped sixth season of The Real Housewives of New York City, fans met Cody, and quickly became a part of Teichner's proposal when he chose to ask the salon owner for her hand in marriage while filming. At the time of their engagement, Drescher had only just met Cody, but in the months that followed, she appeared to be supportive of their relationship.
Just last month, Drescher's father spoke to Radar Online, revealing Drescher had taken over as their wedding planner and claiming she and Cody were "dear friends."
In her interview with Hollywood Life, Drescher seemed to confirm that her and Cody's relationship was fine -- and that she was on board with the marriage regardless of her feelings about their age difference.
"These are his values, and this is what makes him feel good," she added. "So I’m not here to judge him, I’m there to support him in his quest for happiness at this age.”
