Leah Calvert Drug Use: 'Teen Mom 2' Star Reportedly Struggling With An Addiction To Prescription Pills
Leah Calvert's friends are reportedly concerned over her use of prescription pills.
On last night's episode of Teen Mom 2, Calvert was seen taking prescription pills to help with the everyday stressors in her life, but according to a new report, Calvert began popping pills long before the episode was shot.
“We think Leah could be taking powerful painkillers including Lortab and Percocet,” an insider close to Calvert told Radar Online on July 30. “They are very easy to get on the streets in her hometown.”
During Wednesday's episode, Calvert was prescribed pills after telling her doctor she was often overwhelmed with her life. For the last several years, Calvert has been struggling to deal with her daughter Ali's medical condition and the bills that have come as a result. On top of that, Calvert has two other daughters, Aleeah and Adalynn, as well as a husband, Jeremy Calvert, to care for.
All of that, added with the stress of filming a reality show as she tries to get her own career off the ground have reportedly proved to be too much to handle for Calvert, and now, her friends have grown increasingly worried that she may have become dependent on the pills.
“It’s all too much for her,” the insider explained. “Sometimes she drops her girls off with her mom at night and takes painkillers or drinks heavily. Dawn is all too eager to help out and tries to keep Leah’s secrets hidden.”
