Eddie Cibrian On 'Dallas:' Actor Turned Down Role For Wife LeAnn Rimes
Eddie Cibrian turned down a chance at starring in Dallas for his wife, LeAnn Rimes.
On last night's episode of LeAnn & Eddie, viewers watched as Cibrian chose to stay in Los Angeles with his wife instead of furthering his career with a new role.
"LeAnn Rimes was reduced to tears after a night of line dancing at a gay bar when husband Eddie Cibrian revealed he was turning down a great job offer to stay close to her," the Daily Mail reported on July 25. "Rimes happily sobbed into a tub of ice-cream in the kitchen of her Malibu mansion on Thursday's episode of LeAnn and Eddie as Cibrian said he was passing on a role in the TV show Dallas."
If Cibrian had taken the role, it would have meant he would be in Texas for seven months, which would have been difficult both on his marriage and on his two kids, Mason and Jake. During filming, Cibrian would have been limited to visiting Los Angeles every few weeks, and for him, that alone was enough to send him running.
After revealing his decision to his wife, Rimes expressed her concern that Cibrian would eventually become resentful over turning down such an amazing opportunity, but Cibrian assured her that wouldn't be the case.
"I am totally okay with it," he explained. "Even if they could have worked it out it would have still been very difficult. There is no way that I could do it."
LeAnn & Eddie airs on Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. on VH1.
