Tori Spelling Dean McDermott Reality Show: Stars Never Bought Cabin For GAC Series
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott don't own the cabin seen on their Great American Country reality series.
Although fans have been led to believe that Spelling and McDermott bought a cabin in Canada, where McDermott is from, and are renovating it for their family on Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever, the owner of the home, as well as the couple's realtor, claims that is far from the truth.
"I still own the house,” Toronto resident, Michael Shipowick, told Radar Online on July 17. “I’m retired now, so I gave it to my sons. And yes, they filmed a reality TV show there.”
According to the report, Spelling and McDermott checked out several different properties before setting on the Otilla cottage, which fans have seen on the show (Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever premiered on GAC on July 4). However, since the show wrapped, they haven't returned to the home.
Realtor Todd Jeffries spoke to Radar, as well, claiming the cabin set up was strictly for the show.
“There’s very little substance to [reality shows], it’s just entertainment,” Jeffries noted.
As for what he saw from Spelling and McDermott, who recently endured a cheating scandal on their former reality show, True Tori, Jeffries said they appeared to be doing well.
“They seemed to get along," Jeffries told Radar of the couple. "[McDermott] knows how to work a room and he seems to be really concerned about her.”
Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever airs on Fridays at 10 p.m. on Great American Country.
