Ice-T's Grandson Arrested; Elyjah Marrow Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter
Ice-T's grandson was arrested earlier this week after reportedly killing his roommate.
On Tuesday, Elyjah Marrow was "fiddling" around with a handgun at his home in Bentley Manor Apartments in Marietta, Ga., when it went off, killing his 19-year-old roommate, Daryus Johnson.
"Marrow was charged with involuntary manslaughter, possession of [a] firearm in the commission of a felony, and reckless conduct," TMZ reported on June 27. "He was also hit with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of a stolen firearm."
Marrow is one of Ice-T's daughter LeTesha's two children, according to a report by Heavy. LeTesha was born to Ice-T and his high school girlfriend, Adrienne. Marrow graduated from Wheeler High School, where he played running back and outside linebacker for the school team, one year ago.
Although Ice-T has yet to comment on the situation, he did speak out about gun control just two years ago. In an interview with Channel 4 London News, via the Los Angeles Times, he stated, "I'll give up my gun when everybody else does... if there were guns here, would you want to be the only one without one?"
Ice-T also confirmed he owned a gun, explaining, "It's legal in the United States. The right to bear arms is because that's the last form of defense against tyranny, not to hunt. It's to protect yourself from the police."
Marrow had been seen on Ice-T's E! reality show with wife Coco, Ice Loves Coco.
Marrow is currently in custody.
