'RHONY' Season Six Reunion: Filming Was "Boring," Network Reportedly Considers New Cast
The Real Housewives of New York City cast is reportedly in jeopardy of being fired following Friday's filming of the season six reunion.
While reunions are typically quite eventful, reports claim RHONY's reunion was boring and uninteresting, which has producers wondering if they should replace the entire cast with a new group of ladies ahead of season seven.
“The taping was beyond boring,” a source close to the show told Radar Online. “Yes, everyone showed up and there were tears and fights, but not about anything that mattered at all. There just wasn’t enough going on in the season to make a reunion anything special.”
After debuting to 1.33 million viewers in March 2014, the sixth season of The Real Housewives of New York City has struggled to maintain its fans. While the series reached a season high of 1.48 million viewers during the show's eighth episode, it has been on a downward slump ever since, reaching a season low of 1.12 million viewers during last week's episode.
Because of the show's rapid loss of viewers, Bravo is reportedly considering a cast reboot, which could result in all of the women being replaced.
“The ratings are a bust and the women aren’t doing anything to help the show," the source explained. "Ramona had a lot of interesting things happening in her personal life but she made sure it didn’t make the show. Carole and Aviva tried to have a storyline, but even Aviva’s show absences didn’t help the ratings.”
The Real Housewives of New York City airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
