Over the weekend, Mia and a friend were injured in a drive-by shooting, which left Mia hospitalized, and now, she and her mother, Jody Claman, are planning to sue their former Real Housewives of Vancouver co-star for her negative comments regarding the situation.

Jodie Claman's Daughter Injured In Vancouver Shooting
On Sunday, June 8, Mia was shot multiple times, reportedly in the back, by a man in a passing SUV, and while the man with Mia was struck as well, he was treated at the scene. Following the incident, The Real Housewives of Vancouver's Mary Zilba spoke out on the situation to CBC.
During the interview, it was noted that the man Mia was with had a criminal past, which prompted Zilba to speak of her hopes that the shooting would serve as a wake up call for Mia. She also called the man "questionable."
In response, Jody and Mia have filed a defamation suit against Zilba, claiming she made defamatory comments to the effect that Mia "associated herself with criminals or individuals of unsavoury character" in an effort to damage her reputation.
A letter of cease and desist has been sent to Zilba in regard to the case.
