Is Ryan Vieth On Steroids?: Tamra Barney's Son Admits To Taking Human Growth Hormone
Tamra Barney's son Ryan Vieth reportedly has admitted to gaining muscle mass by taking a human growth hormone.
During a conversation with his mother on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Vieth revealed he had been taking a human growth hormone (HGH) after purchasing the product from a drug dealer in the parking lot of Barney's gym.
"I have less fat on my body. My muscles are more dense. Even my hair has gotten better,” Vieth boasted of his post-HGH appearance, via Pop Sound Off.
As a health fanatic and owner of C.U.T. Fitness, Barney does her best to eat right and exercise, so to hear that her son had been taking supplements to boost his appearance was a red flag, and she immediately demanded he see a doctor—especially since the drug can lead to serious side effects.
According to WebMD, users of the drug can experience side effects, such as nerve, muscle, or joint pain, swelling, carpal tunnel syndrome, numbness and tingling of the skin, and high cholesterol levels. HGH can also increase the risk of diabetes and contribute to the growth of cancerous tumors.
In addition, the site added that users who obtain the drug illegally could be getting a counterfeit product or one that is unapproved, which was a big concern for Barney, who was told by her son that the drug deal was “sketchy and probably illegal.”
Fans will get to see the results of Vieth's doctor visit on next Monday night's episode.
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs every Monday at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
