Casey Kasem's Daughter Weight Gain: Liberty Kasem Claims Weight Loss Program Nearly Killed Her
Casey Kasem's daughter has reportedly filed a lawsuit against a doctor, claiming that his weight-loss program nearly killed her.
Liberty Kasem, an aspiring singer, alleged in the suit that her weight problem went from bad to worse after she began taking weight loss medication given to her by Dr. Edgar Guess of the Beverly Hills Wellness Center.
"Kasem claims Guess gave her a treatment plan that included a new diet, vitamins, meds, and supplements. Six months later Kasem says she began to experience serious health problems," TMZ reported on May 26. "One day, Kasem says she began to sweat profusely and vomit -- and exhibited other symptoms that caused her to fear for her life."
After reportedly being hospitalized because of her sudden health problems, Kasem filed the suit against her doctor, alleging that she was nearly killed because of Guess' advice -- and claiming she hadn't lost any weight using his program.
Kasem is suing Guess for "medical bills, lost wages, and other unspecified damages."
Liberty Kasem is the daughter of Casey Kasem and his current wife, Jean Kasem, whom he married in 1980. Casey Kasem also has three other children, Mike, Julie and Kerri, from his previous marriage to Linda Myers.
For the last couple of weeks, Casey Kasem's whereabouts has been of a concern. The radio icon, who is currently suffering from Lewy body disease—a common cause of dementia, was thought to have been taken out of the country after his two daughters, Kerri and Julie, discovered he was no longer staying at the California nursing home where he had once lived.
Casey Kasem has seen been spotted in Washington state.
