Sherri Shepherd's Husband Weight Loss: Lamar Sally Loses 50 Pounds As He And Sherri Prepare To Divorce, Become Parents

Sherri Shepherd's husband Lamar Sally has lost a reported 50 pounds ahead of his divorce from the View co-host.

Shortly after news of their separation broke, Sally spoke out, claiming to have lost tons of weight on the "divorce diet."

During a recent interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Sally revealed he had lost "freakin' 50 pounds," adding, "Use a slim picture, not the fat one from six months ago … I'm on the divorce diet."

On May 2, after just two-and-a-half years of marriage, Sally filed for legal separation from Shepherd, requesting both full and legal custody of their unborn son. Prior to the split, Shepherd and Sally had enlisted the help of a surrogate to carry their first child together (Shepherd has one other son, Jeffrey, 8, from a previous relationship), and while the child will not be born until July, there is already a legal fight brewing over who will raise him.

In addition to requesting full and legal custody, Sally is asking for Shepherd to be awarded only with visitation -- and for their prenuptial agreement to be invalidated based on fraud.

Following their Dec. 2010 engagement, Shepherd and Sally were married in Aug. 2011 at the Fairmont Hotel in Shepherd's hometown of Chicago.

Although Sally stayed mum on the terms of their impending divorce, he did express his excitement over the upcoming arrival of his first son.

"I'm happy to be a father," Sally told the magazine.

Shepherd and Sally are expecting a baby boy on July 28, who will be named Lamar Sally Jr.
