Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Married: Report Says Pair Tied The Knot In Courthouse Ceremony Ahead Of Paris Wedding
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have reportedly gotten married.
Although the pair's official wedding ceremony won't take place until May 24 in Paris, reports say Kardashian and West legally may have wed this past weekend in Los Angeles.
“Kim and Kanye are now married on paper. They got their license in California over the past few days," a source confirmed to Life & Style on May 4. "Kim and North are on their way to NYC now."
On May 29, TMZ reported that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and her rapper beau would be tying the knot within the week after they had obtained a “confidential” marriage license, which prevents the media from having access to their official documents.
"People are probably assuming we're going to have this massive wedding, and I think it will be – but intimate," Kardashian told Vogue, according to Life & Style. "Two hundred people – just all of our closest friends – a special night for us and all the people that really love us and that have supported us."
Because French law requires couples to have lived in the country for at least 40 consecutive days, Kardashian and West opted to make things official in California before their ceremony took place.
On Monday, weeks before their Paris ceremony, Kardashian and West are scheduled to appear at the 2014 Met Gala in New York City.
Kardashian and West began dating in 2012 and welcomed their first child, daughter North West, in June 2013. They have been engaged since Oct. 21, 2013.
This is the third marriage for Kardardashian, who married music producer Damon Thomas in 2000 and Kris Humphries in 2010, and the first for West.
