Naya Rivera Fired From 'Glee'? Actress Gets Booted By FOX Following Alleged Feud With Co-Star Lea Michele
Naya Rivera has reportedly been fired from Glee after five seasons with the hit FOX series.
According to a new report, Rivera had been feuding with her co-star, Lea Michele, before producers reportedly decided to give her the boot, deeming there was only room for one diva on set.
"Naya Rivera has been fired from the FOX series days after an initial report of an on-set feud involving the actresses surfaced," sources close to production confirmed to the NY Daily News on April 29.
Rivera and Michele have both been with the show since season one, but Rivera wasn't brought aboard as a starring cast member until season two, when her recurring role as Santana Lopez was made permanent.
In a second report by Popwrapped, it was alleged that Rivera has already been written out of the season five finale, which is set to air on May 13, and that she will not be returning to the show for its upcoming sixth season.
Reports of a feud between Rivera and Michele first began to surface earlier this month.
"They're always icy to each other," a show source told Us Weekly on April 25. "Naya is jealous that Lea is the show's main star… There is a lot of sighing and eye-rolling between them."
On April 30, Us Weekly released a second report, claiming Rivera had "went off" during a disagreement with the show's producers, and that her contract for season six has not been renewed.
FOX has yet to comment on the alleged casting news.
