Former 'Bachelor' Winner Melissa Rycroft Welcomes A Son
Melissa Rycroft has reporterdly welcomed her second child into the world.
On Easter Sunday, April 20, Rycroft and her husband, Tye Strickland, welcomed a 7 lbs., 7 oz. baby boy, Beckett Thomas Strickland, who measured in at 19.2 inches and joined big sister Ava Grace, 3.
“This little guy has been teasing us about his arrival for the last month so it is only fitting that he surprise us with his arrival on Easter Sunday,” Rycroft said in a statement to PEOPLE Magazine on April 21. “He’s perfect and beautiful. Ava can’t wait for us to bring him home to be able to show us all of the big sister duties she’s been practicing.”
After appearing on the 13th season of The Bachelor, Rycroft accepted a proposal from Jason Mesnick, but during the After The Rose special, the pair announced that their relationship had come to an end, and Mesnick went on to marry runner-up, Molly Mesnick. Meanwhile, Rycroft rekindled a romance with Strickland, who she had dated prior to her reality TV days, and the pair were married on Dec. 12, 2009.
Rycroft and Strickland welcomed their first child, daughter Ava Grace Stickland, on Feb 16, 2011, and in Oct. 2013, announced that their second child was on the way. One month later, the couple revealed they were expecting a boy.
“I feel very lucky that I get to experience the bond between mother and daughter and between mother and son," Rycroft said. "I hope he’s a little mama’s boy."
