Emma Stone And Andrew Garfield: No-Shows At The Oscars
Emma Stone and boyfriend Andrew Garfield were no-shows at Sunday night's 2014 Academy Awards.
Garfield was set to present during the show, but after pulling out at the last minute, he was replaced by Chris Evans.
Now, fans are worried that something serious may have happened in one of their lives.
“It was disheartening to learn that Andrew canceled on the Oscars,” an insider told Radar Online on March 4. “If it were a fight or something between them one would have just came without the other, but this seemed to be more of something going on with one of their families.”
A second source claimed that Stone, 25, had a family commitment in Arizona and suggested that it must have been important if the couple pulled out of such a highly publicized appearance.
“With Emma, it’s all family first. And Andrew is so devoted to her that he wouldn’t just leave her in New York dealing with some sort of crisis on her own,” the source said.
In 2008, Stone’s mother, Krista Stone, was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, which is highly aggressive and hard to treat.
Stone and her mother have always been close and in 2010, they got matching blackbird tattoos to honor her mother having been cancer-free for five years.
