Tamera Mowry-Housley On Balancing Her Career With Motherhood
Tamera Mowry-Housley has a busy life, and in a new interview, she admits that balancing her life as a mommy and wife with her life in showbiz isn't always as easy as she'd like it to be.
“Some days I scream,” the actress admitted to PEOPLE Magazine at the 2014 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon. “Honestly, you take it a moment at a time, a day at a time. Some days you got it and everything works out according to plan.”
In addition to her home life with husband Adam Housley and son Aden, 15-months-old, Mowry-Housley is also currently starring on The Real.
Just eight months after the birth of her son, Mowry-Housley was cast on the show, alongside Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai, Loni Love, and Tamar Braxton. Following the series' four-week test run in summer 2013, it was announced that The Real was green-lit for national syndication with reruns airing on BET.
Despite all of her success, Mowry-Housley continues to make motherhood a priority and is loving every minute of it -- even the hard times.
“The temper tantrums aren’t so fun,” Mowry-Housley explained to PEOPLE of Aden. “He’s beautiful — he’s walking — but I see the terrible twos just around the corner. I can see how it can go there!”
Luckily, Mowry-Housley isn't alone in her efforts to maintain a stable household. By her side is her FOX News correspondent husband, whom she met in 2005 and married in 2011.
“[Adam Housley]'s a very hands-on dad and sometimes he checks me,” Mowry revealed. “I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, you’re doing more than me. I’m feeling a little inadequate here!’ That’s such a big blessing when you have a husband that loves being a dad just as much as you love being a mom. He is a phenomenal father.”
The national launch of The Real is set to air on FOX stations starting in Sept. 2014.
