After first announcing that she was expecting her third child in Sept. 2013, Stefani stayed fairly quiet about her pregnancy until January, when she revealed that the baby would be a boy. At the time, she told her Instagram fans, "I was ready to hand over the crown. but I guess I am still queen of the house. #itsaboy #surroundedbyboys."
In Sept. 2012, Stefani had hinted in a Marie Claire interview that she and Rossdale were done having children, following an unsuccessful period of trying.
"I really, really, really wanted one about two years ago. And it didn't really work out," Stefani said. "So. . . I feel good with what we've got. Everything works out how it should. You can't plan anything, right? You can try."
Also in the interview, Stefani opened up about being the mommy of two very active little boys.
"From the moment they wake up, they start beating on each other. I never knew they would be so physical," she explained. "They're just starting to play real well together, but with a lot of fighting. They do look out for each other -- especially the little one, he really loves his older brother."
Stefani and Rossdale first met in 1995 when Stefani's band, No Doubt, when on tour with the Goo Goo Dolls, opening for Rossdale's rock group, Bush. On Sept. 14, 2002, they got married.
